Permanent Graffiti Resistant Coating on Wood, Concrete and Stucco Surfaces- SEI Industrial Chemicals

There are many anti-graffiti coatings available in the marketplace, but once you weed out the sacrificial coatings (lasting only one or a couple of removals) and those that can only adhere to metal or painted substrates, then the field gets less crowded.
If you were to continue with your “wish list” for long-term graffiti protection by adding that the product needs to be low VOC, clear in color, only one component so you do have to mix chemicals together and versatile enough to adhere to many surface types… you’d be gravitating toward SEI Industrial Chemicals Graffiti Proofer.
Just for fun, you should add that the product have excellent non-stick characteristics so those pesky graffiti stickers (a.k.a. “slap tags”) don’t adhere to your surface. While you are at it, why not add to the list that the product should allow you to remove graffiti spray paint, graffiti permanent maker, bubble gum, lipstick and many other types of graffiti by simply wiping it off with a damp towel or using a low pressure wash with no chemicals.
No, this is not fiction! SEI Industrial Chemicals has provided the Graffiti Proofer to many municipalities, property owners/managers, contractors and professionals for years to cover valuable assets like- split face block and cement block sound walls, stucco buildings, brick walls, metal signs and bridges, vinyl wrapped utility boxes, metal painted doors, wood fences, water tanks, fountains, rocks, plastic fire alarm pull covers, newsstands, murals and many more surfaces.

When Powder Coating Still Isn’t Enough Graffiti Resistance- SEI Industrial Chemicals

Parks & Rec ornamental gates

Many metal painted surfaces are “powder coated” which is typically used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Metal park benches, newspaper stands and painted metal gates are just a few examples. The disappointing thing about a powder coated surface is that it is usually subjected to spray paint graffiti, permanent markers and graffiti stickers (a.k.a. “Slap Tags”) and other forms of graffiti. Once “tagged”, minimal to moderate success at removing graffiti is achieved. Even more frustrating is that, by the nature of design, powder coatings can be very difficult to apply a “top coat” anti-graffiti product over.

The SEI Graffiti Proofer single component non-sacrificial graffiti resistant coating has experienced much success over a myriad of powder coated surfaces like the attached ornamental gates.

Can’t Get Much Greener Than This SEI Industrial Chemicals Graffiti Proofer

It can be confusing trying to decipher how to be an environmentally conscious company and a good corporate citizen when addressing graffiti problems that surround your environment. There are a myriad of anti-graffiti coatings that range from only lasting for one graffiti removal (sacrificial coating) to surviving several graffiti removals (semi-sacrificial) to protecting a surface for many graffiti abatements (non-sacrificial).

When evaluating anti-graffiti coatings consider this, SEI Industrial Chemicals Graffiti Proofer is made in Southern California under the strict rules of the SCAQMD which are arguably the toughest standards in the nation. But when you really drill down to the entire lifecycle of graffiti and how it is dealt with, the Graffiti Proofer GPA-300 environmental footprint is stellar. Sure you may locate a zero VOC product, but if it is a 2 component product, then you expose your personnel to mixing chemicals and many use caustic chemicals as the catalyst.
Why is the Graffiti Proofer the greenest? Because when the permanent non-sacrificial coating is properly applied, it can withstand many graffiti removals for many years. But what really separates it from the pack is that no chemicals are required to perform graffiti removals, thus not exposing maintenance people to harsh chemicals nor increasing the carbon footprint each time a removal is performed. Also, no trips to the paint store to paint over graffiti which once again exposes people to chemicals and increases the environmental impact of your structure. SEI Industrial Chemicals anti-graffiti coating is applied to this aquatic mural to provide repeated protection by sealing the surface from many spray paints, permanent markers, lipstick, paint pens, crayons, gum, footprints, grease and other commonly used tools of the graffiti vandal. The treated surfaces are also protected from the harmful effects of the environment (smog, ultra-violet rays, sulfur dioxide, smoke, ozone, dirt, wind, sea mist and spray, and other common urban pollutants). Graffiti can be removed multiple times without using any chemicals. For more information please call (408) 402-5395 or email info@seichemicals.com

Stucco, cement block and other surfaces protected

A multi-colored multi-surfaced building is coated with SEI Industrial Chemicals GPA-300. Our Graffiti Proofer sticks to a myriad of substrates as illustrated in this photo with the non-sacrificial coating applied to cement block, stucco and other painted surfaces.  The Graffiti Proofer clear coat helps prevent the permanent staining caused by graffiti vandalism by way of spray paints, permanent markers, lipstick, paint pens, and other commonly used tools of the graffiti vandal can be successfully removed without marring the surface. The treated surfaces are also protected from the harmful effects of the environment (smog, ultra-violet rays, sulfur dioxide (SO₂), smoke, ozone, dirt, wind, sea mist and spray, and other common urban pollutants).  For more information please call (408) 402-5395 or email info@seinoocal.com

Water tank and aluminum dome protected from graffiti since 2010

Tank and Dome protected since 2010

Water tanks are prime targets for graffiti due to their locations and vast surfaces. in 2010, SEI Industrial Chemicals in California provided the Graffiti Proofer clear coat to help protect the tank and dome for years against spray paint and permanent markers. This tank was put back into service in 2010 and has been protected ever since. The anti-graffiti coating was applied to the painted concrete tank walls and the entire aluminum dome. Seicoat’s Graffiti Proofer sticks to a host of non-porous and porous substrates such as: metal, wood, concrete split face block, CMU and painted surfaces.
